Photo Transfer on Wood, May 26, 7-9 PM (addres for the event will be e-mailed subsequent to registration)
RozArt invites you to an evening of Digital Photo/Image Transfers on Wood. Come and learn how to transfer your favorite digital photos and image designs on wood or any other surface.
Alma Selimovic will lead you through this workshop. She is a metal sculptor and also works in 2-D media including transfers on plaster. Alma has a BFA from the Academy of Fine Arts in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and a MFA from the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts (PAFA) in Philadelphia, PA. About five years ago, Alma started working on photo transfers and manipulation of transfers on wood, metal, aluminum and plasters. Her technique is a result of multiple attempts to give artistic quality to a photo/image transfer. She has lived and worked in the Gateway Arts District, Prince George’s County, for the last four years.
Preparing for the Workshop:
Send in advance your digital photos/images. Those will be printed on transfer film in order to be transferred on prepared wooden pieces (wall ready), six by six inches. Each participant will take a wooden piece (one or two) home. Ready works can be hung on your wall or placed on flat surface. They also make nice gifts. We hope you will learn how to make photo transfers and perhaps will continue to experiment in the future.
All materials and supplies will be provided. All you have to do is supply a good resolution digital photo/image, one or more, in advance of the workshop.
This workshop is two hours long. We’ll provide snacks and refreshments.
Please RSVP as soon as possible. Each workshop can seat only ten persons. Please share with your friends and anyone who may be interested.
